about OUR GOAL
Regrowing Ukraine into an Excelling Market Leader
Our vision goes beyond today. We contribute to the long-term recovery of Ukraine by investing in sustainable farming practices, strengthening local communities, and supporting initiatives that help rebuild both land and livelihoods. At the same time, we aim to position Ukraine as a leading European example in regenerative food production systems.
Within the DUBIC project, berries produced through regenerative production systems will be assessed using the international Product Environmental Footprint Category Rules (PEFCR) methodology. This makes the project among the first initiatives in Europe to apply this comprehensive environmental performance framework to berry production at chain level.
PEFCR follows a full value-chain approach in line with the objectives of the EU Farm-to-Fork Strategy under the European Green Deal, measuring impacts such as carbon footprint, resource use, biodiversity effects, and environmental performance from production through processing and distribution. By applying this methodology, DUBIC contributes to transparent, science-based sustainability measurement and helps set a benchmark for future regenerative supply chains across Europe.
Through this approach, Ukraine is not only rebuilding its agricultural sector after the devastation of war, but also positioning itself at the forefront of innovative, climate-smart and market-oriented horticulture, creating new opportunities for growers while strengthening Europe’s transition toward more sustainable food systems.
